Hello cutie patootie Blog Readers to another Blog Reading Session. I hope your days are warming and your drinks are icy and cold.
ANYWAYS, it's time for another Thailand Adventure Update featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series and Knuckles. This time it's all about sidequests because I got really bored in Bangkok and decided
to branch out and see more and cooler stuff. I was chatting with Danica From Work about cool places nearby to go, and they kept suggesting over and over to go to Kanchanaburi, a cute town like 2-3 hours away
from Bangkok. I finally took her advice and headed on out as soon as I could. I ended up meeting this very nice Romanian girl before I left, and she really wanted to come with, so we ended up going on a cool
tag team side quest!! I was honestly very happy to have her along, I don't think the trip would have been half as fun without her there.
The train ride was honestly one of the coolest parts. We got tickets for 3rd class as that was all that was left, and man were the seats fun. Where we ended up, they were these awesome wooden benches lined up
and down facing each other, like big old wooden benches with high backs and little arm rests on the side, no cushions or anything. We thought it was hilarious and super cool and genuinely
had a great time being bumped aroud on the hard seats. It was also a super scenic ride. I mean not at first, we had to get out of the city and we had to pass through some really unkempt areas which was sad to
see, but eventually we made it out into the countryside and it was SUPER cool seeing all the green farms and tropical ass trees and mountains in the distance. Hopefully the photos turned out but we'll see.
Afetr making it to the hostel though, we took a stroll through the city to check everything out. There was some sort of festival going on to celebrate Chakri Memorial Day I believe, so we got to stroll through
a big gathering with loads of food stalls and some silly carnival games and a couple spots with live bands rocking it out to some Thai tunes. SUPER cool vibe, but then we kept walking and started passing along
the river. I guess to explain, Kanchanaburi is a really cool riverside town, and home to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, where all sorts of warcrimes happened. SUPER beautiful riverside area, especially
near sunset, it wasn't too hot and was SUPER pretty to just watch the water carry on down the river. We ended up at a little river beach where a couple of families were playing around with their kids. They had
a cool setup with a net to keep the kids in and river debris out as well as a bunch of floating pads lined up like a runway. It seemed super fun, I was lowkey super jealous of those kids at the time. REALLY
cool town to stroll through though, at least when it wasn't disgustingly hot.
